Welcome to the website for Saint Matthew’s Parish! I am delighted that you are interested in learning more about our Anglican/Episcopalian Christian community at Saint Matthew’s, our mission and opportunities for worship, Christian formation, fellowship and service.
Saint Matthew’s IS here…for YOU! Our beautiful landmark building has stood on the corner of Cambridge and Southbridge Streets since 1893, and our clergy and people have been part of the life of the South Worcester neighborhood since 1871, so our roots in South Worcester run very deep. But, Saint Matthew’s is much more than an historic building: we are Christians seeking to “see Jesus more clearly, follow him more nearly, love him more dearly…day by day” (Prayer of Saint Richard of Chichester), and we welcome all who are interested in learning more about Christian faith and living it out in daily life. The doors of Saint Matthew’s are open to all: inquirers, life-long disciples, long-time residents, newcomers, immigrants, college students, children, youth and families, singles, and seekers.
I invite you to check us out, and discover that Saint Matthew’s is indeed here for you…wherever you are on your journey! May you find a blessing when you find us: we’re looking forward to welcoming you, and being blessed by your presence at worship and fellowship!
You are welcome in the Name of Christ –
The Reverend Nancy Baillie Strong, Rector
